Sonia Foo: A petite finance business analyst turn cabin crew

A former finance business analyst who felt restricted in the office when she was working in a famous international company quits her job to become a free living cabin crew by travelling around the world.

Sonia Foo made up her mind of travel to Singapore for the Scoot Airline interview she enrolled as she had enough of being a finance business analyst in Intel. She packed her luggage and went for the interview secretly without letting her conservative father know about it.

"I did not told my father about it because he would think cabin crew do," said Foo

Foo is a petite girl with a height of 160cm tall which people might mistaken her for being a high school student as she is now 25 years old. Before making her dream come true, she faced a big obstacle as she was stopped by her father when he told her to get a degree certificate. So, Foo listened to her father's advice and got herself a degree in Finance.

Along the journey of her studies, she manged to do her internship in the world famous computer chip manufacturer Intel and the company hired Foo as a Finance Business Analyst after she graduated. That job was short lived as Foo felt exhausted working overtime in the company. Adding salt to injury, she did not like the feeling of being restricted whenever she is in the office.

After working in Intel for two years, Foo decided to quit her job and pursue her high school dream which is become a cabin crew. So, she secretly went to Singapore to enroll herself in Scoot Airline interview in December 2017.

When Foo's friends and family members heard she became a cabin crew, they immediately thought of the nice uniform she wears that would show off her nice figure. However, that is one part of the story of a cabin crew. Sometimes Foo has to face some troublesome passengers during on-board or flight on the airplane.

"When managing troublesome passenger, I have to explain the airline company policy to them as it is written on the flight ticket to make them understand their entitlement," said Foo in a stern tone

There is one time when Foo was flying back from Australia to Singapore, an Indian couple who originated from India have migrated to Australia was making a fuss over their seating arrangement because they feel entitled due to the wealth they have.

"The couple was making a fuss over their seating arrangement. They want to seat in other seat which are not on their flight ticket. Fortunately I managed to give them a new seat arrangement," said Foo feeling relieved

Foo has traveled to countries like China, Japan, Belgium, and Australia. At the destination, she enjoys eating delicious cuisine with her colleagues in simple restaurants.

"I enjoyed eating the seafood in Australia because the seafood is fresh. The portion is big and the price is affordable as well," said Foo
