Interacting with online audiences is one of the many criteria to be considered when it comes to targeting online audiences. According to American Press Institute, 15 percent of uncivil comment was decrease after journalist participate in the comment based on a study of 70 political posts by a local television station with 2,500 political comments. The reason why do this happen is unknown, however journalists said people speak more thoughtfully when they know someone is listening. In addition, journalist can participate in a public exchange by responding to a reader's question publicly which helps to clear up some misunderstanding and sending a message of how well the journalist care for their audience. For example, R.AGE from The Star newspaper will interact with its audience by responding to its audience on Facebook like agree on the audience point of view on a serious manner or thanking the audience whenever there are wrong facts in their news or videos. The interaction initiated by R.AGE make the audiences feel like they are a part of the community when the news company respond to their comments on Facebook and the interaction also gives a good impression towards the audiences as they were noticed by the journalist from R.AGE in the comment section of the Facebook post.
